Judo

  1. Judo means “the gentle way” in Japanese.
  2. It was created by Kano Jigoro in 1882.
  3. Jigoro combined the traditional Japanese martial arts to create it.
  4. The object is to use the least amount of energy to toss an opponent, then use Jiu Jitsu and other ways to subdue him.
  5. Judo became an Olympic event in 1964.
  6. It is a very conducive sport for the visually impaired to participate in.
