Soviet Union

  1. For centuries the czars ruled Russia. In 1917, the Bolsheviks overthrew Czar Nicholas II. He and his whole family were murdered to end the bloodline.
  2. After a civil war, the Soviet Union emerged in 1921.
  3. An age of mass executions by the Bolsheviks was called “The Red Terror”.
  4. Between 1936 and 1938, there was “The Great Purge”. This is when Stalin had 600,000 people murdered.
  5. December 331, 1991 is recognized as the date the Soviet Union ceased to exist.
