Chinese Checkers

Chinese Checkers was invented in Germany in 1892. It was called Stern-Halma. Stern means star in German. In 1928, J. Pressman @ Co. changed the name to Chinese Checkers after the discovery of King Tut’s tomb sparked interest in the Far and Middle East. They thought it would be good for marketing. Chinese Checkers is neither Chinese nor a version of Checkers.
