Lincoln’s Assassination

  1. Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. on 4/14/1865.
  2. John Frederick Parker, his body guard, was 3 hours late for work that day and was in a bar having a drink when Lincoln was killed.
  3. John Wilkes Booth was originally going to kidnap Lincoln.
  4. Booth was killed trying to escape while 3 men and 1 women were hanged for conspiring.
  5. Ulysses S. Grant was supposed to be sitting by Lincoln, but his wife didn’t like Mary Todd Lincoln, so they made up an excuse to not go.
