Apollo Moon Landing

  1. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon with Michael Collins in lunar orbit.
  2. Their guidance system was less advanced than a modern calculator.
  3. They travelled 240,000 miles from the earth to the moon in 76 hours.
  4. Life insurance was too expensive, so they all signed hundreds of autographs for their relatives to sell if they didn’t make it back.
  5. They spent 21 hours 36 minutes on the surface of the moon.
