- Boomerangs have been around for over 5,000 years and were first extensively recorded in 1822.
- In hunting, they were used to circle prey to mimic a predator bird as the hunter made bird noises. This would confuse the prey so they could spear it.
- They can fly 100 mph and stay in the air for up to 17 minutes.
- One boomerang flew 160 yards and then returned to the thrower.
- There are right handed and left handed boomerangs.
