THE GHOST OF NEW LONDON LEDGE LIGHTHOUSE

  1. The Ledge Lighthouse was built in 1909 in the harbor of New London, Connecticut.
  2. The story goes that, in the 1920s or 1930s, a man named John Randolph was so distraught that his wife left him for another man, he jumped off the top story to his death.
  3. Since then, people have reported noises, door slams and boats being unmoored when no one else was there.
  4. They also have reported sightings of a ghost named Ernie. He looks like a tall lighthouse worker with a beard.
  5. Most experts believe the explanation is when people spend long times alone, their mind plays tricks on them.
